Schedule For Monday, November 27, 2017
On Monday night, November 27th, the Macon Touchdown Club will welcome J.T. Thomas as our feature speaker.
Macon native J.T. Thomas, who starred at Lanier High School and in college at Florida State before beginning a 10 year NFL career, returns home to end the Macon Touchdown Club Fall season. Thomas was an All State performer at Lanier for Coach Godfrey Steiner and then earned All America Honors at FSU where he was the school’s first black football player. He was a first round draft choice of the Pittsburgh Steelers following his senior season and was a member of 4 Super Bowl winning squads as an integral part of the famed “steel curtain” defense. Thomas, who was a Pro Bowl selection in 1976, played for the Steelers from 1973 until 1981 and ended his career at Denver playing with the Broncos in 1982.
As always, we will meet at The Methodist Home For Children, in The Rumford Center. The address is 304 Pierce Avenue, and the meeting begins at 6:30 pm.
Guest Fee is $30.00, and includes dinner, club activities, recognition of local high school athletes, recognition of a local high school and the speaker.
