On Monday night, October 9th, the Macon Touchdown Club will welcome Coach Chris Hatcher, Head Coach of Samford University as our feature speaker.
Chris Hatcher, the current head football coach at Samford in Birmingham, makes his annual visit to the Club on October 9th. The Macon native is in his third year with the Bulldogs and over his previous two seasons has led his squad to a 13-10 record. In 2016 they finished 7-5 advancing to the FCS playoffs where they lost in the first round. Prior to Samford, Hatcher coached at his alma mater Valdosta State where he compiled a school best 76-12 record which included the 2004 NCAA Division II National Championship. He also coached at Georgia Southern for three seasons where he was at 18-15 and at Murray State for 5 seasons where his teams were 27-30. As a quarterback at VSC, he was a two time All American and winner of the Harland Hill Trophy which goes to the top player in NCAA Division II.
As always, we will meet at The Methodist Home For Children, in The Rumford Center. The address is 304 Pierce Avenue, and the meeting begins at 6:30 pm.
