Schedule For Monday, September 11, 2017

On Monday night, September 11th, the Macon Touchdown Club will welcome J.T. Thomas as our feature speaker.

As always, we will meet at The Methodist Home For Children, in The Rumford Center. The address is 304 Pierce Avenue, and the meeting begins at 6:30 pm.

Macon native J.T. Thomas, who starred at Lanier High School and in college at Florida State before
beginning a 10 year NFL career, returns home to open the Macon Touchdown Club season on
September 11th. Thomas was an All State performer at Lanier for Coach Godfrey Steiner and then
earned All America Honors at FSU where he was the school’s first black football player. He was a first
round draft choice of the Pittsburgh Steelers following his senior season and was a member of 4 Super
Bowl winning squads as an integral part of the famed “steel curtain” defense. Thomas, who was a Pro
Bowl selection in 1976, played for the Steelers from 1973 until 1981 and ended his career at Denver
playing with the Broncos in 1982.
